EDUCATION
Greg is a product of the Maryland Public Education System, having attended schools here since the third grade. He then enrolled at the Georgia Institute of Technology where he received his Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. This was achieved while participating in a cooperative education program where Greg worked in the areas of research & development and manufacturing. Then, while working full-time, Greg attended the Columbia Campus of the Loyola College of Maryland. There he received his MBA Fellows from its Executive Program. His outstanding performance in that program earned him induction into the Beta Gamma Sigma business honor society.

COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES
Greg has been active in civic activities here and around the area since settling in Howard County in 1990.  In 1997, he was appointed by former County Executive Chuck Ecker to the Howard County Public Works Board where he served until 2002. During his final year, he served as the vice-chairman. While serving, Greg listened to the citizens concerns regarding their communities, scenic roads and water and sewer services.  Greg has been involved in the schools by addressing neighborhood concerns on school redistricting.  He attended zoning board hearings and provided support to the community as developers have tried to break original agreements and increase density.  In 2000, he was selected by former County Councilman Allan Kittleman to serve on the Task Force on Childcare for Howard County to find new solutions for child care needs. In the early 1990's, Greg participated on the State Task Force on Facilities Energy Management where he served on 3 of its 4 subcommittees in an effort to make Maryland government more energy efficient. He has helped organize and participated in numerous activities including the Tree-Mendous Program's Project Cloverleaf, Kidney Foundation Volleyball Marathon, and March-of-Dimes.  Greg has served as moderator and spokesperson for the local Take-A-Step Food Allergy Network, a member of the Fulton Elementary PTA, and president of the Hunterbrooke Homeowners Association.  Prior to having his own children, Greg coached SAC soccer in the Mt. Hebron area. Today, he coaches SAC soccer for his own son in the Fulton area.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Over the past 20 years, Greg has gained experience in research & development, manufacturing, engineering, marketing, sales and finance. Furthermore, much of his work has involved dealing with the Government sector. This experience, along with his comprehension of today's technology, is a combination that provides him with a broad-based understanding of what it takes to efficiently, effectively and creatively develop solutions in a vast number of areas that impact Howard County.

POLITICAL BACKGROUND
Greg served as the 2nd Vice President of the Howard County Republican Club from 1998 to 2000. He received the Republican nomination for County Council District 4 in 1998. Following the 2000 census, this area was redistricted placing him in District 5. Greg remained active in local politics serving as a precinct coordinator during the Bush 2000 campaign as well as providing assistance and supporting the campaigns of Senators Sandy Schrader and Allan Kittleman as well as Governor Bob Ehrlich.
